Even though we can’t see them and we can’t touch them, gases are essential for a better life and a better future. Every day the Sapio Group is committed with passion, expertise and resources to offering innovative products, technologies and services that improve the quality of life.
Today’s creators of a better tomorrow for everyone.
The Sapio Group is based on a system of values shared by the entire company. In particular, during the 2020-2021 two-year period, these values have been included as key performance indicators in the evaluation system of the employee’s performance. It’s not solely about reaching an objective, but also, and most importantly, how it is achieved.
Within the Sapio Group ecosystem, leadership is increasingly measured by a leader’s capacity to guide the company towards the targets that have been set by marrying being a leader in their behaviour and in their actions. Today’s and tomorrow’s leaders are constantly aware of the company’s purpose; they dedicate their attention to civil society and the environment, with the aim of creating a new paradigm of the society for all stakeholders, not only those that are within its remit; they have great mental agility along with the capacity of switching roles pragmatically and quickly.
Being responsible means repaying the trust of the shareholders and guaranteeing maximum commitment to the stakeholders. The essential elements in the scale of values of the Sapio Group are being solution driven, focusing on the solution and not on the problem, avoiding procrastinating decisions, alibis and justifications and being a positive example for others.
Entrepreneurship, along with responsibility, is the added value that our Group aims for. A leader 4.0, who represents the present and future of Sapio, must have the courage of their convictions, have initiative, be able to step out of their comfort zone and be able to delegate and monitor.
For over one hundred years one of the Group’s strengths has been people and the ability of attracting and keeping reliable and qualified employees. In the current climate of uncertainty, this aspect assumes an increasingly decisive role in the Group’s strategic development. Celebrating the successes of our employees, working in a team, learning from mistakes and being open to change and diversity are the essential qualities of those who work and want to grow with Sapio.
The importance of fairness is amongst the most complex to define and apply in a community such as a company. However we believe that a growing company like ours needs to constantly strive for fairness towards its employees and its ecosystem in general. The crucial elements to build and develop a company based on fairness are to reward merit, facilitate people’s growth and mobility, give and ask for continuous feedback, being coherent and favouring expertise over loyalty.
After the successful conclusion of the Next Plan in 2022, Sapio has developed a new strategic plan called “Inspire”. With the aim of becoming a leading player in healthcare and clinical research services in Europe and the preferred partner for the implementation of projects useful for the energy transition in Italy.
In other words, Sapio aims to become the best company to work for, invest in and buy from, wanting to be an example for the ecosystem by providing products and services that make the planet safer, healthier and more.
This vision is based on 7 points that define the “INSPIRE” strategic plan:
invest in traditional business and in cash generation.
accelerate the growth of the dimensional scale.
support expansion into current and opportunistic geographieslivable.
prioritize energy transition and ESG integration into business
implement the organizational structure to support execution and simplification.
reinforce corporate culture and drive for change
excelling in technology trasformation and innovation
The role of the Sapio Group, like the role of all companies that invest in their development and in the development of the entire collective, is being the hotbed of new technologies and new ideas, to improve the quality of life of the people and the environment we live in. It’s an objective that we share within the company. Our employees are constantly stimulated towards new ways of operating, new products and services, that can render the company more efficient and provide the best service for the customers and patients.
In Sapio we believe that innovating means responding to market needs that have not been met yet. Achieving this helps maintain the company relevant, contributing to reaching the strategic objectives that have been set, as well as generating value for the company and its employees, as well as for customers and the community that we operate in. In the Sapio Group everyone can become an entrepreneur, create a start-up and be an innovator, by pooling their uniqueness within cross-functional teams that prize diversity as an advantage. In 2017 Sapio created an Innovation Team, guided by a Chief Innovation Officer. The Innovation Team coordinates the innovation activities inherent to the Industry and Healthcare business units and reports regularly to the Innovation Board, formed by certain members of the Board of Directors, with the decisional powers to launch experimental products and services, and subsequent pilot schemes, on the market.
Sapiothon is an internal “hackathon” open to all employees of the Sapio Group, aimed at the engagement and promotion of innovation. The first Sapiothon, launched in 2018, concluded with the launch of SmarTAG (2019 Smau Innovation Prize) . This predictive reordering system is based on the consumption history and the stock on hand of industrial gas tanks.
In the second half of 2020, despite the medical emergency, the Sapio Group has continued to promote the importance of innovation. The new edition of Sapiothon was therefore planned and launched fully online, with the support of our partner Cariplo Factory. It marked the start of a coaching course of a few months for 50 employees, divided in 10 teams focused on issues affecting three specific areas of strategic interest for the company: (1) business-to-consumer (“B2C”) for the Healthcare division, (2) Industry: go-to-market and processes, (3) Post-Covid: the new normal.
Integrity is the core requirement of a vision focused on a sustainable future and the key to its development. Every decision and every action of the Sapio Group is inspired on legality, transparency, ethics and respect, with the utmost coherence with the mission and the company values.
The Sapio Group in its pursuit of creating value for customers, suppliers, employees and the community has based every relation on ethical principles and indispensable rules that are applied and shared by anyone operating on behalf of the Group.
Compromises are not accepted. The company governance system, as well as the codes of ethic, is designed to guarantee and monitor that ethics and integrity are always guaranteed, in continuity and in line with the Group’s mission.
The aim is for our way of working to be an example of an ethical approach and integrity for the sectors that we operate in, for our suppliers and for the community.
Horizon is the Sapio Group project that rewrites the relations between company, employees and the environment.
The need for remote working solutions, triggered by the Covid-19 emergency, has clearly revealed a new horizon that can shape the way we work. It has been a great chance that the Sapio Group has seized, transforming the exceptional aspect of the period into a new opportunity for growth and change for the future.
Greater efficiency, greater safety, greater respect for the resources thanks to increasingly linear processes and simplified operations, able to optimise both the quality of the work and the quality of life, is a scenario where everyone is a winner: people, the environment and the company.
Remote working is a way of rethinking the way we work so that we go to the office only when it’s necessary. Working from home reduces pollution, it’s safer for people, allows for more free time and is more efficient for the company.
Taking into account the type of job, the family and personal situation as well as the need for social relations and sharing with colleagues, working from home can be an optimal solution that allows for flexibility, and a new approach to control and monitoring efficiency based on objectives and results rather than solely on number of hours worked.
Another advantage is the reduction in commuting time, on average of 230 hours a year, about 10 days, per person, with a consequent drop in emissions and a saving of over 2 million kg of CO2, the quantity absorbed by a forest of 350,000 trees
Paper has been eliminated as much as possible in all company departments. From the daily operations of the individual employee, right up to the management level there has been a significant shift to digital tools.
The target is to achieve a reduction of 1 million prints per year.
By minimising transport costs the company can save about 2 million Euro per year but, most importantly, it improves efficiency and the involvement and loyalty of employees towards the company. In a calm and dynamic professional environment people work better and feel more responsible and satisfied.WORK WITH US
